Nutrition

The science behind their bowl.
Without the industrial cooking.

We co-developed every recipe with a Québec veterinary nutritionist and our Boucherville production team. No shortcuts, no hollow marketing.
The proteins

We start from meat. Not filler.

The first ingredient is always a concentrated animal protein at no less than 22% of the formula.

The pantry

A dozen ingredients. Chosen for what they do, not their cost.

Sweet potato

Complex carb with a low glycemic index. Stable energy, gentle digestion.

Whole dried egg

Reference protein (PER 4.0). Amino acids and natural binder.

Capped legumes

Peas and chickpeas capped at 17-18% · well below the suspected DCM threshold.

Herring oil

Natural source of EPA and DHA. Coat, joints, brain function.

Brewer's yeast

B vitamins, palatability, immune support.

Beet pulp

Fermentable fiber. Firm stools and balanced microbiome.

Chicory root

Natural prebiotic (FOS inulin). Feeds the gut flora.

Seaweed (kelp)

Iodine, trace minerals, antioxidants. Thyroid and coat.

Cranberries & blueberries

Natural antioxidants. Urinary tract, cellular aging.

Taurine + L-carnitine + DL-methionine

Systematic anti-DCM trio. Heart health, lipid metabolism.

Glucosamine + chondroitin

Joint support built into the base recipe.

Chelated minerals (proteinates)

Zinc, copper, iron, manganese in bioavailable form.

The blacklist

What we'll never put in the bowl.

Anti-DCM

Dilated cardiomyopathy, we anticipated it.

Since 2018, the U.S. FDA has been investigating a suspected link between grain-free, legume-heavy diets and DCM. We applied the precautionary principle to our whole approach.

Capped legumes

17-18% maximum in every recipe, vs 30-40% at the brands flagged in the FDA reports.

Sweet potato as the main starch

Rather than replace grains with more legumes, we return to the source: a digestible tuber.

Systematic supplement trio

Taurine 0.10% + DL-methionine 0.15% + L-carnitine 0.02% · added without exception.
